Graeme Cox - Managing Director
Graeme Cox is emerging as one of the leading businessmen in the UK. He is a previous winner of the Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland business award, a 2005 semi-finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition and the Managing Director of one of the fastest growing companies in Europe.
With fifteen years experience in Information Security Management, IT Risk Management and leading IT security practices under his belt, Graeme founded dns ltd, the fastest growing Information Security Services organisation in the UK. An amazing success story, dns was named the 20th fastest growing technology company in Europe in the Deloitte Technology European Fast 500 awards 2004 and continues to grow exponentially.
As well as being responsible for the overall operation of dns, Graeme provides high-level strategic security consultancy to some of the largest organisations in the United Kingdom. He is a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS) and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He is often quoted in national press and IT literature, and is a frequent public speaker on identity management and the management of information risk in large businesses.
By striving to improve standards and boardroom awareness of information security Graeme intends to grow dns into the leading provider of information security services in the UK.
James Macintyre - Chairman
One of the founders of dns, James has had over 35 years experience in the ICT industry. After a number of ICT managerial roles in the UK and abroad he spent fifteen years with PA Consulting Group; key roles included Team Leader, Oil and Gas International Division; ICT Regional Manager Scotland; and Director, Internal Systems UK and Europe. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Consultants and a Member of the British Computer Society, MBCS.
Richard Lewis - Sales & Marketing Director
Richard joined dns from Morse Group where he was previously UK Sales Director and a UK Board Member. In his previous role for Morse, Richard leveraged significant growth through building a strong team, forging successful partnerships with key players across all sectors of industry and developing compelling propositions for the marketplace. Richard has managed marketing teams with multi-million pound budgets within previous roles – this has developed a broad understanding of business issues and solutions across all sectors of the UK economy. Prior to Morse, Richard worked for IBM in both a consultative and sales capacity across a broad range of IT solutions areas.
Don Smith - Technical Director
Don Smith has worked in the IT industry for 17 years. Don started his IT career with the groundbreaking Edinburgh University spin-off, Vision Group. After a successful flotation Vision was acquired by STMicroelectronics where ultimately Don became responsible for security architecture and operations for this $8billion enterprise. During his time at ST in Geneva, Don also worked on successfully integrating 14 acquisitions across 26 sites on three continents. Don joined dns on returning to Scotland in 2005 and since joining has been instrumental in the construction of the dns identity management practice and the ongoing evolution of the dnsMSS service portfolio.
Paul Pearson - Managed Security Services Manager
Paul joined dns in August 2007 following a 28 year career with BT. Paul has a broad range of skills and experience, including technical, project management and security service management. For the past nine years at BT, Paul was the managed firewall unit manager with operational responsibility for circa 800 devices world-wide.
Paul has various qualifications, including, but not limited to:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Prince2 Practitioner certified
- Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL)
- Certified BS7799 Lead Auditor
- Qualified Management Selection Interviewer
- BT Certificate in Management (Open University)
Paul has proven experience in managing large technical teams and delivering service and security excellence to BT's and dns' clients world-wide. He is HMG Security Cleared and had responsibility for delivering the firewalls for the NHS in England. Paul is also an experienced project manager and has delivered multi-million pound IT and network projects throughout the UK.
Paul is experienced in the design, implementation and running of standards compliant management systems, in particular, BS7799, ISO27001 (both information security) and ISO20000 (IT Service Management).
James Billett - Financial Controller
James joined dns from Miller Developments where he had financial responsibility for all overseas investment property operations. James was involved in the financial appraisal of potential commercial property investments, tax structuring and due diligence as well as financial and bank reporting. Prior to Miller Developments James worked for SMG plc in Glasgow and PwC. James is a qualified Chartered Accountant and an associate member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
