dns has launched a new Computer Forensics service (E-Forensics) to compliment its comprehensive range of information security solutions. The new service is a natural extension of the current assurance and managed security services to provide resources for incident handling.
Computer forensics is the generic name for the analysis and reporting of findings from the forensic analysis of all computer or digital-related media. This not only includes PC/Laptop or Server hard drives but also other storage devices such as USB drives, MP3 players, memory cards, portable media and data gathered via network analysis.
The dns E-Forensics team, headed by information security expert Keith Foggon, has consulted on many cases ranging from Internet misuse, Child Abuse, Terrorism, Fraud and Sexual Assault. All investigations are undertaken utilising specialist equipment and proven forensic methods and techniques compliant to UK and USA Police standards. All reports issued are in a form suitable for submission to Courts of Law or tribunals.
Commenting on the new service, Managing Consultant, Keith Foggon said, “It is vital that organisations not only react quickly to situations but that they also act in a way that keeps evidence intact and usable in a court of law. Many cases are lost because evidence is ruined by ad-hoc investigations. Our service is designed to react quickly, to preserve evidence, and to give confidence to our clients that their incident is being handled by competent and experienced professionals.”
