Penetration testing provides a clear view of the security status of any service. It can be non-service-affecting and non-invasive. Throughout the testing, no attempt to exploit any vulnerability found on the service is made (except where specifically requested by the client). This means that the tester will not attempt to exploit and access sensitive internal data and systems beyond the verification of the vulnerability itself.
